Rooted Beyond Labels

Rooted in understanding. Growing beyond labels.

Creating spaces where Black and Brown families, young people and communities can learn, connect and grow.

Rooted Beyond Labels is a community-interest initiative committed to raising awareness and understanding of ADHD within Black and Brown communities, while creating opportunities for young people and young adults to develop confidence, practical skills and a stronger understanding of themselves and others.

Rooted Beyond Label
Happy young people

More than a label. More than a diagnosis.

A diagnosis can help us understand part of someone’s experience. It should never become the whole story.

We believe people are shaped by their experiences, relationships, strengths, challenges, ambitions and communities.

That is why our work goes beyond ADHD awareness.

We create educational resources, community conversations, mentoring opportunities and youth development programmes that help people understand, communicate, develop and thrive.

Learn. Connect. Grow.

What We Do

At Rooted Beyond Labels, we create safe, inclusive spaces where women, young people and families can thrive. Through wellbeing, sport, creativity and community connection, we help people build confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging.

ADHD Awareness & Education

We make conversations about ADHD and neurodiversity more accessible, particularly within Black and Brown communities. We aim to challenge misconceptions and encourage greater understanding of how ADHD can affect individuals, families, education and relationships.

Building better conversations.

Some of the most important changes begin with a conversation.

We create spaces where people can ask questions, share experiences, explore different perspectives and learn from one another.

Through educational activities, workshops, discussions and community initiatives, we want to make difficult conversations easier to have and meaningful conversations more common.
